Sherri Gullickson Focuses on Litigation as Demand for Court Representation Grows

Sherri Gullickson will be temporarily closing down her FDRP mediation services, focusing instead on family law litigation and court advocacy. Discover how this shift better serves clients in complex parenting and property matters.

At Gullickson Lawyers, we’ve always believed in early resolution wherever possible. For many years, our Principal, Sherri Gullickson, has delivered exceptional outcomes for separating families through her role as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP). However, as demand increases for skilled legal representation in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA), we wish to inform our clients and colleagues that Sherri will no longer be offering mediation services in her capacity as a registered FDRP.

Why This Change?

Sherri’s court practice has grown significantly, particularly in complex parenting and property matters where litigation has become unavoidable. Her focus is now fully dedicated to court-based family law services, where her strategic and resolution-focused mindset continues to deliver results for clients. While mediation can be an effective early pathway for some, it is not suitable for all families. Increasingly, clients are coming to us after unsuccessful mediation attempts—confused, frustrated, and unsure of what comes next. It’s here that Sherri’s courtroom advocacy and deep understanding of the litigation process become invaluable.

Mediation May Not Have Worked—But Your Case Still Can

If you've attempted mediation through another service and found no meaningful progress, don’t lose hope. At Gullickson Lawyers, we provide decisive, legally sound representation in parenting and property matters, helping you navigate the FCFCOA system with clarity and confidence.

Sherri continues to bring her negotiation expertise to the table—but now through the lens of a family law solicitor who understands when to settle, and when to stand firm. Her approach is deeply informed by years of dispute resolution experience, now channelled into litigation support that’s both strategic and empathetic.

What Does This Mean for Our Clients?

  • No loss in resolution-focused thinking: Sherri remains solution-oriented, but within the framework of robust legal representation.

  • More capacity to serve litigation clients: With mediation removed from her service list, Sherri can devote full attention to representing families who need strong court advocacy.

  • Better alignment with client needs: We’re seeing more families needing support beyond mediation. This shift allows us to meet that demand more directly.
